At the undergraduate level, the Computer Science Department is a part of the McCormick School of Engineering; however, a degree is also offered within the College of Arts and Sciences. Fundamentally, these two programs are the same - a student in either will take the same computer classes in either case. The largest differences are in all of the distribution courses that are taken in addition to the major and whether your degree says 'BS Computer Science' or 'BA Computing and Information Systems.'
