Holistic Navigation of Images

Our first approach to designing holistic navigation follows from the paper Visual Correlation for Situational Awareness, presented by Livnat et al. at InfoVIS 2005. We plan to incorporate their ideas into a control metric that organizes high level information about the data which is linked to the data objects themselves. This control metric would not only be used for navigation, but also as a tool to help researchers associate correlations among high dimensional datasets.
