Jim Barclay has been drumming steadily since the age of 15 when his only care in the world was learning the drum parts on Def Leppard’s Pyromania. Since then, Jim has drummed behind such rock & roll royalty as the Temptations, the Drifters, Frankie Lymon & the Teenagers and Wanda Jackson. Jim plays around Chicago with groups from Alan Gresik’s Swingshift Orchestra, to the power-pop guitarist Tommi Zender to the stream-of-conscious country of The Possum Hollow Boys. His stage credits include the award-winning Million Dollar Quartet (Apollo Theater, Chicago production), Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story at Drury Lane Oakbrook & Water Tower, Hedwig and the Angry Inch at American Theater Company and Route 66’s production of High Fidelity. Jim’s drumming can also be heard in the 2007 motion picture hit Waitress and seen in the 2008 Universal Pictures release The Express. He has recorded two albums for Hi-Style Records and toured the US and Europe. He holds a Bachelor of Music Performance from the University of North Texas and is a proud member of Vic Firth’s Education Team.
