I am a fifth-year Ph.D. Candidate in Computer Science in the Aqualab under my advisor, Dr. Fabián Bustamante. I received a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Northwestern University in 2011, and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Northwestern University in 2007.
Here is my Curriculum Vitae.
Statement
My primary focus is on building and evaluating large-scale distributed systems, with a goal of understanding their interactions with and impact on the Internet at large.
I also am interested in approaches to attain urban sustainability, using vehicular-based sensing nodes to collect high-fidelity pollution measurements that can be used to inform urban policy decisions, and the general public.
Projects
- Dasu: ISP Characterization from the network edge
- Ono: Reducing P2P cross-ISP traffic while improving users' performance
- EdgeScope: Sharing the view from a distributed Internet telescope
- Car-to-Car Cooperation (C3): Distributed systems over vehicular ad-hoc networks
- C3R: Urban Sustainability through Car-to-car Cooperation

Volunteer Positions
Skiing and Snowboarding
It's been a few years since I've had a chance to get out on the slopes. I love skiing in the Vail area of Colorado, but when I can't be there, you'll find me at Cascade Mountain near the Wisconsin Dells.
Racquetball
I've been playing for a few years now, and I'm looking for others to play against. If you're interested, please let me know!
Photography
As an amateur photographer, I enjoy experimenting with new techniques to create unique effects. I shoot with a Canon EOS 350D Digital Rebel XT and (usually) a Sigma 15-30mm lens.

Scuba Diving
I have logged a few days worth of dive time, predominantly in southern Florida and the Keys, and also in Negril, Jamaica.
