EECS 349 Project status report peer review

Due 11:59PM Tuesday, May 30

In this assignment, you will review three project status reports, and give the group feedback.

The first step is to find out which proposals you will review. Open the file aa_project_status.csv in the project status folder in Canvas. Due to a variety of factors we abandoned the goal of maintaining the same mentors for each project throughout the quarter, so you will most likely be assigned different projects to review than the ones you reviewed last time. Find the last four characters of your net ID in the first column -- you are assigned to review the three status reports in that row. You can find all the report documents in the status reports folder. In addition to turning in your review, you must also send the review via e-mail to at least one of members of the team you reviewed. Use the names in the PDF, or in the file name (or the project group in the file name), along with the NU Directory or Canvas, to find contact information for one of the students.

The status report reviews are brief. Here is what to provide:

  1. List any questions, concerns, or suggestions regarding the work the group has done so far -- do the preliminary results make sense, is the approach being taken so far reasonable, and what are your suggestions? (3-4 sentences)
  2. Comment on the group's plan for the remainder of the quarter. Time before the project deadline is brief, so which parts of the group's plan would you prioritize? Do you have other suggestions for putting finishing touches on the project? (3-4 sentences)
It is possible, although unlikely, that you will be assigned to review your own status report. In that case, go ahead and review your own proposal (self-review can be very valuable).

It is also possible but unlikely that you will be assigned two reviews from the same group. In that case, please pick another review at random from the directory and review that instead.

Submission Instructions

For each of the three peer reviews you are assigned, you should paste into the text box in Canvas two things:

  1. The e-mail address(es) that you sent the peer review to.
  2. The text of the peer review
