EECS 349 Project Status Report
Due 11:59PM Tuesday November 16
v1.0
Updated Mon Nov 8 2010
Assignment
The project status reports should be at most two pages (they may be shorter) in PDF format, and should cover the following
three points:
- What does your data compiled to date look like, e.g., how many examples do you have, how many features, and what are
some examples of the features? Have you set aside a test set that you will not experiment with until the end of the course?
Are there important biases or shortcomings in your data set(s) that will limit the conclusions you can make?
Note, if you're compiling your own, novel data set (as many groups are),
it's imperative for the status report that you have made significant progress acquiring data. Your grade
on the status report will be primarily based on your answer to the above questions; the remaining points below are intended to enable
more helpful feedback from the professor and TAs.
- What preliminary results do you have so far?
- What are the most important steps you have remaining, and what specific questions do you plan to answer?
Submission details follow. NOTE that you mail this assignment to the professor in addition to the TAs, in PDF
format. Only one submission is required per group, but please cc all group members in your submission e-mail.
