Barry S. Weiss is currently Senior Vice
President of Animation Production for Sony Pictures Imageworks. Mr. Weiss is a widely respected
animation producer and administrator with extensive experience in both
feature film and television animation production. Mr. Weiss received his undergraduate degree in
television and film at Northwestern University and his master’s degree in
film from the University of Southern California. He is the recipient of a local Emmy Award for outstanding
achievement in children’s programming as producer of The Magic Door,
and is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Short
Subject and Feature Animation branch. has lectured all over the world on the
subject. He has been a featured speaker in the Comparative Media Studies
program at the world renowned Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well
as such prestigious film and animation schools such as the University
of Southern California and the Ringling School of Art and Design. He has also lectured at the international Animation festivals in Annecy,
France and Cardiff, Wales as well as the World Animation Celebration in
Pasadena, California.
