Final Client Demo Day
You have 7 minutes to demo to the class the final version of your client app.
- 1 minute: product box
- 3 minutes: show what your app does, on a device, not in Scanner, if possible
- 1 minute: roadmap of what has to be done next with the app
- 2 minutes: lessons learned
Put your product box and lessons learned on slides in the the shared Google final client demo presentation.
Product Box
- Team name
- Product name
- Real payoff screenshot
- User-targeted bullet points
- i.e., "get up to date weather alerts," not "can get and display weather data from US Weather bureau"
- mark undone key features with "(coming soon!)"
Demo Path
Demo with a story. "This is George. He hates getting wet. He works in a windowless office. He'd rather stay there than go out in the rain..."
Do not do a feature tour.
Lessons Learned
One slide with at least three key learning points for the team from the two projects. This includes specific things that did or did not work in
- team and client communication
- code management
Don't be vague, e.g., NOT "failure to manage expectations" or "poor backlog tracking." Be short but specific. Cryptic better than vacuous, e.g., "Failed to tell client uploading limited to iOS until face to face meeting" and "Rotating meeting manager role resolved meeting scheduling issues."
Focus on the development process. This is not about the app!
