Client Project Kickoff
Your top goal is to get the client project moving immediately. There are two shared Google docs to record your progress on Canvas:
- Enter the time and location of your kickoff meeting in the Client Developer Projects spreadsheet.
- Enter your client's storyboard on your team's slide in the Client Storyboards presentation.
Use a tool like When2Meet or WhenIsGood to find the best meeting time.
For more on kickoff activities, see the slides.
Storyboard ≡ Deliverable
Your client should have sent you their 4-panel storyboard. If they haven't, ask for it.
Your first deliverable should be Panel 3, fleshed out. Don't get sidetracked into implementing login screens and other friction. Hold fast to delivering a functioning implementation of Panel 3 with real data on real back-end, displayed with simple but clean front-end.
In week two, you will make more of the app real, while your clients will be using your deliverable to test their value proposition with users.
Responsibilities
Both teams have some key responsibilities:
- Clients: must communicate clearly and effectively their vision, manage the development process, evaluate intermediate products, and adapt goals accordingly.
- Developers: must rapidly come up to speed on the client's vision and constraints, deliver the best product possible in the shortest time possible, and communicate clearly and effectively development progress and issues.
