This quarter's project will involve knowledge over the internet, i.e., intelligent browsers and servers. This is related to a large engineering effort called the Semantic Web, of which much has been written in the past year or so. Here are some of the better on-line links:

• The Semantic Web: An Introduction -- a very nice introduction that gets into concrete details like RDF vs RDF Schema, but still manages to be quite readable.

• Swoogle -- a semantic web ontology search engine. Also check out the Swoogle FAQ for links to similar projects.
• XML.com's Semantic Web Resources with many interesting links, my favorite being Semantic Wikis and Disaster Relief Operations, because it shows a practical possible application in disaster relief.
• The DARPA Agent Markup Language (DAML) Homepage -- lots of overview and introductions as well as detailed technical examples and links to ontology sites
