you're using xlisp-stat or MCL, use their buit-in editors. If you're using kcl
on Unix, use emacs and run Lisp in a shell inside emacs.

these definitions in a file. Give the file the appropriate filename extension
for your Lisp. Get used to editing that file and reloading it into the
