Computer Science
There are many resources available to the Computer Science students
and faculty, such as the Neverworld, a shared virtual environment, and a
robust networking environment.
We are currently preparing a separate page with a detailed
listing of our resources and facilities.
University Resources
NUNet, Northwestern University's internal network, is currently
undergoing an upgrade to improve connectivity on campus as well as with
the rest of the world. A large part of the campus has already been switched over to the new
network (NUNet Charlie), which features:
- OC-12 Intercampus Backbone (622 Mbps)
- OC-3 External and Campus-to-Campus Links
- 10MB ISP (with easy growth to 45 MB)
- OC-12/OC-3 ATM Campus Backbone
More information about the University computing facilities can be found at
the Information Technologies
page. Northwestern University is also a participant in the
Internet2 project.
